How To Make Natural Eggs’ Colors – There are few basic colors that you can create like the orange color, the light blue, the yellow and the brown and you can mix between those colors to create your own new ones. And remember if you want your Easter eggs to have a darker color, just leave it in the colored solution for longer than 30 minutes.
Before adding the natural coloring ingredients, you need to prepare the following:
1- Combine around 1 liter of water and 2 tablespoons white vinegar in a medium pot. The vinegar will allow the colors to maintain the colored ingredients together.
2- Bring it to a boil, add your dye ingredients for colors specified below, and lower the heat.
3- Strain the dye and remove the ingredients from the liquid before adding the eggs. Once strained, add eggs and let soak for at least 30 minutes or more for darker colors.
To create the pink color, put around 4 cups of chopped beets in mixture for 30 minutes. Then allow eggs to sit in the liquid for 30 minutes or more
The orange color is made by adding 4 cups of yellow onion skins to mixture. Put in hot water (before reaching boiling point) for 30 minutes.
The yellow color is obtained by adding 3 tablespoons of turmeric in boiling water. Then let the liquid cool down, then soak the eggs until they reach the desired color.
To have a light blue color, add 3 cups of chopped red or purple cabbage to mixture. Simmer it for 30 minutes, strain, and allow the eggs to soak overnight for brightest shade.
