The Lebanese very first oil and gas drilling ever is about to begin!
The Minister of Energy Nada Boustani announced that the first equipment shipment that will be used in the drilling exploration in the sea arrived at Beirut Port.
The work will begin in December 2019 in Block 4 (which is just off the coast of Beirut). And the chances to find commercially viable hydrocarbon is pretty good.
“The countdown begins” that’s how the minister announced it on Twitter.
The companies that will handle the drilling are Total, the French company, Eni (Italy) and Novatek (from Russia).
